Australia ETA (Electronic Travel Authority)

Enter a valid email address that you check regularly. This will be used for all correspondence and to receive your ETA approval notification. Use the same email for all future applications.

Create a strong password with at least 8 characters, including uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Do not reuse passwords from other accounts. Store it securely for future logins.

Enter the passport number exactly as shown on the biodata page. It is typically 8-9 characters, starting with a letter followed by digits. Do not include spaces or hyphens. If scanning, verify the app captured all characters correctly.

Select the expiry date from the passport biodata page. Use the format DD/MM/YYYY. Ensure the passport is valid for at least 6 months from your planned arrival in Australia. If it expires sooner, renew your passport before applying.

Select the country that issued your passport from the dropdown list. This must match the nationality on your passport exactly. If you hold multiple passports, choose the one you will use to travel to Australia.

Enter your family name exactly as printed on your passport, including any spaces or hyphens. Do not use nicknames or abbreviations. If your name has special characters, use the English transliteration as shown in the passport.

Enter all given names exactly as shown on your passport, in the same order. Include all middle names. Do not omit any part of your name. If your passport shows only one given name, enter it as is.

Enter your date of birth in DD/MM/YYYY format, exactly as recorded on your passport. Use the calendar picker to avoid format errors. Double-check the year, as a wrong year can cause delays or rejection.

Select the gender marker as shown on your passport: Male, Female, or X (if applicable). This must match your passport exactly. If your passport has no gender marker, contact the Australian Department of Home Affairs for guidance.

Select the country where you were born from the dropdown list. This should match the place of birth on your passport or birth certificate. If your country no longer exists, select the current country name that corresponds to the region.

Enter the date you plan to arrive in Australia in DD/MM/YYYY format. This should be within the validity period of your ETA (12 months from approval). You can enter a tentative date, but it must be realistic. If your plans change, you do not need to update this; the ETA remains valid.

Enter the number of days you intend to stay in Australia, up to a maximum of 90 days per visit. This should be a whole number. If you are unsure, estimate based on your travel plans. Do not exceed 90 days, as the ETA does not permit longer stays.

Enter the full address where you will stay in Australia, including street number and name, suburb or city, state or territory, and postcode. If you are staying at a hotel, provide the hotel address. If you have no fixed address, provide the address of your first accommodation.

Select 'Yes' if you have a condition that may require medical treatment or hospitalization during your stay, or if you have a communicable disease. Otherwise, select 'No'. If you answer 'Yes', you may be asked to provide additional medical information or undergo a health examination.

Answer 'Yes' if you have any criminal convictions, even if they were minor or occurred long ago. Also answer 'Yes' if you have pending charges. If you answer 'Yes', you may be required to provide police certificates or character references. Be honest; providing false information can lead to a visa refusal or cancellation.

Select 'Yes' if any country has ever cancelled or refused a visa application you made. This includes Australia and any other country. If you answer 'Yes', provide details in the space provided. Failure to disclose this can result in an automatic refusal.

Carefully review every field on the summary page. Check that your name, passport number, and date of birth match your passport exactly. If any information is incorrect, go back and correct it before proceeding. Once submitted, changes may not be possible.

Pay the official fee of 20 AUD using a valid credit or debit card. The payment is processed securely. Be aware that the official fee is only 20 AUD; any website charging more is not official. Do not use third-party services that charge excessive fees.

After payment, click the submit button to finalize your application. You will receive a confirmation email with a reference number. Keep this number for tracking. Most applications are processed within minutes to 48 hours, but apply at least a week in advance.
